Mountain Youth together with local clinicians from Colorado Mountain Medical and Your Hope Center will share tools and resources to support youth mental health and resiliency. Develop healthy coping strategies that can be used at home to support youth's mental health.

About the Event
Join local bilingual youth mental health experts for a free discussion on the signs of depression, anxiety and stress. Sharing strategies and tools, the goal of this talk is to break down barriers to accessing mental health care and ensure all youth have trusted allies to support them through life’s challenges. This is a free event with dinner and childcare provided! This event will be presented in Spanish and English.
Presenter Information:
Juan Carlos Hernandez Barraza: Juan Carlos Hernandez Barraza is a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Addiction Counselor Candidate. Juan Carlos grew up in Eagle County and graduated from Vail Mountain School. He focusses on trauma, anxiety, depression, use disorders, identity development, and working with diverse and underserved communities. He utilizes narrative, cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, and existential approaches. He is passionate about inclusion and equity work, and provides an empathetic space in the work he does with folks.
Cassandra Armas: Cassandra Armas was born and raised in Eagle County and is a Licensed Social Worker currently completing the requirements to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Cassandra’s passion is to help the youth of the community as inspired by the following quote: “Be who you needed when you were younger.” Cassandra is currently a school-based clinician with the Hope Center and enjoys working out, playing hockey, and our great outdoors!
