About the Event

Join We Hear U facilitators, Rachel Glowacki and Edgar Cháirez, for a presentation on styles of parenting, brain function & development, breath exercises to calm the mind, and channels of communication. Rachel joined the Mountain Youth team in 2020 as a facilitator for the WE HEAR U program, an evidence-based program designed to help families connect and communicate.

Rachel is a mindful movement educator, writer, and thought leader in the kids yoga field. She specializes in mindful movement for all ages and abilities and has been teaching since 1999. Rachel is also an award-winning author of the Kids Yogaverse storybook apps and Co-owner of Move With Me Books. She hopes that one day mindful movement will be taught regularly in schools just like math and science! She believes that a calm brain is a learning brain and a healthy body is a happy body, principles she shares with her students young and old.

Edgar grew up in a small town in Durango, Mexico, and moved to the United States after graduating from college.   He holds a law degree and spent close to 10 years working for the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas Texas where he worked in the protection department.  The position included assisting clients who were incarcerated and needed guidance with the legal system.

He started working for Hood Insurance Agency in August of 2020 and is licensed in Property and Casualty.   As an insurance agent, he very much enjoys working with clients to help them with their insurance needs.

As a local professional living in this valley, Edgar feels it is important to give back to the community of which he is part.

This event is free, open to the public, and will have dinner, live interpretation and childcare provided.
